The Sound and Image Association, established as a non-profit organization in February 2009, has as its exclusive purpose the pursuit of social solidarity purposes, using artistic culture in all its forms of expression.
It was founded in 1994 as a Cultural Association by the will and as a result of the artistic research in the field of music conducted by its President, Lorenzo Porta del Lungo.
From the deepening of this research and in recognizing the fundamental role of art as a tool for the development and growth of human beings, the need emerged to establish a social promotion association, which aims to promote the dissemination of music, culture and art both through artistic-cultural initiatives and training, prevention and recovery in the social-health, psychological, pedagogical, environmental and ecological fields.

How we were born

The succession, within a short period of time, of events linked by the common thread of research that goes to investigate and deepen the nature of interhuman relationships and the expression of them through art and culture, as well as in personal, family, work and social relationships, was the food for thought from which the idea of forming an association matured.
The research conducted in the field of music by Lorenzo Porta del Lungo has led to the conception and realization of a number of artistic events:

June 27, 2008, at Teatro Piccolo Eliseo Patroni Griffi, a conference was held for the presentation of the book “Anorexia: history, psychopathology, and clinic of a modern epidemic,” by Dr. Ludovica Costantino, psychiatrist and psychotherapist (Liguori Editore, Naples 2008). The papers presented at the conference and the passionate debate that then ensued, involving the large audience in attendance, provided further insight into the understanding of the causes that lead to the onset of this disease and its spread, especially among young people.

In the summer of 2008, the play “The Precious Ones” was completed, with the complicity of a group of scholars, including Dr. Ludovica Costantino and with

music composed by Lorenzo Porta del Lungo.

A choral work that takes us through time to tell us about women and their irrational reality.

This play was presented at the Piccolo Eliseo Patroni Griffi on September 19 – 20, 2009 with a great success with the audience.
