The program offers a journey through two centuries of music, weaving together timeless masterpieces and contemporary pages designed for the intimate ensemble of flute with string trio.
It opens with theOverture from Rossini‘sBarber of Seville , reinterpreted in Küffner ‘s chamber version .
This is followed by Mozart‘s Quartet in C major K 285b, a page of luminous elegance in which the flute takes on the role of poetic soloist, supported by a sober and transparent interweaving of the strings. The path then lands on the contemporary with a piece by eclectic musician Federico Maria Sardelli, Empfindsames Quartett, a piece that looks back to 18th-century sensibilities.
Then Mozart returns with one of the greatest masterpieces written for this ensemble: the Quartet in D major K 285. A jewel of melodic grace, formal balance and typically Mozartian cantabile.
Closing the concert is a tribute to the great Nino Rota with a selection of pieces that celebrate the dreamlike and melancholy dimension of the great composer of Fellini’s music, evoking atmospheres of suspended poetry and timeless cinematic memories.
